Type Con: Off the Page is a hypothetical system for a Type con event featuring typographers who create physical type utilizing paper, an ode the old process of creating type as a physical process. The system includes visual elements that utilize shaddows and the 3d in order for the system to come alive, off the page. The design features handmade quilling which forces the designer and viewer to think of the process of it’s creation and each letter’s form. Its colors and visual elements are light and elegant hoping to evoke an immediate sense of appreciation towards typography as a craft.
